Micro-suction

Micro-suction is a safe, gentle, and highly effective method of removing earwax. It is now the most popular and recommended treatment for ear wax removal. Using a precision medical suction device we can carefully remove wax, often without the need for water leaving your ears feeling clean and your hearing clearer.

Warm water ear Irrigation

Earwax irrigation is a modern and gentle method of ear cleaning using warm water that replaces the now disused and unsafe method of syringing. Unlike traditional syringing, this technique uses a controlled flow of water to safely and comfortably flush out excess wax. Our clients' feedback indicates this treatment is also particularly effective for itchy ears.

Do you offer ear wax removal for children?

Increasingly at Town and Country Ear wax removal Clinic we are seeing more and more children, aged 4 upwards who are struggling with ear wax build up and the discomfort that this brings them. We now have a steady flow of children who often require regular interventions and our service offers a faster route to relief compared to the longer wait for treatment on the NHS.

Earwax, or cerumen, is a natural substance produced by glands in the ear canal. It plays a crucial role in protecting the ear by trapping dust, bacteria, and other foreign particles. While it is essential for ear health, excessive earwax buildup can lead to discomfort, hearing problems, and infections, particularly in children.

We will only offer the warm water irrigation treatment for children which provides a gentle and kind method to ear wax extraction that most children seem to respond well to.

Can ear wax build up cause pain when flying?

Flying can be a wonderful experience, but for some, it can also be uncomfortable due to earwax buildup. As the plane ascends and descends, the changes in air pressure can cause discomfort, especially if there's earwax blocking the ear canal.

During a flight, the air pressure inside the cabin changes rapidly. Normally, your ears can adjust to these changes by equalizing the pressure. However, if earwax is blocking the ear canal, this process can be hindered, leading to a buildup of pressure and causing pain or discomfort. If you are affected by excessive ear wax build up, it  is always a good idea to have the wax removed from your ears before flying.
